The only program of its kind
The Engineering Bridge programs at ý are unique and recognized across Canada as an excellent transition from a technology diploma to an Engineering degree (UVic) or Applied Science degree (UBC).You'll study advanced topics that aren't typically found in technology programs.
Although the Bridge programs are designed for graduates of technology diplomas delivered through ý,all graduates from accredited programs are welcome to apply.
Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering to the University of British Columbia
Civil engineering focuses on the design, construction and maintenance of our civil infrastructure. This covers a wide spectrum of areas, including water resources, transportation, structural, geotechnical, municipal, and construction.
The Civil Engineering Bridge to the University of British Columbia program is offered in the Fall and Winter semesters (September to April) for entry into UBC in September at either the Vancouver (UBC V) or Okanagan (UBC O) campus.
An internship work term is optional for this program.

What you'll learn
- Apply a foundational knowledge ofengineering-related mathematics toengineeringstudies.
- Display an understanding of chemistry as applied toengineeringproblems.
- Apply Matlab to the solution ofCivilEngineeringproblems.
- Display a fundamental understanding of statics, dynamics, work and energy, and the resulting effects onengineeringstructures.
- Display an introductory knowledge of waves, optics, thermal energy, electricity and magnetism, and simple electrical circuits.
- Display an understanding of geology as it applies toCivilEngineeringapplications.
- Practice core critical thinking, reading, research and writing skills transferable to academic disciplines.
- An internship work term is optional for this program.

Admission requirements
This program is demanding and requires a high level of commitment. The admission process is designed to identify the students most likely to succeed at the University. The number of applicants meeting the minimum GPA standard for admission may be greater than the number of seats in the program. This may mean a higher GPA is used to determine admission eligibility. All of: And one of: Note: Admission Selection Process Stage One GPA is calculated using all courses taken toward completion of a student's Technology diploma, including all course repeats. Stage Two A joint meeting is held between the University of British Columbia and ý in order to rank the applicants based on the GPA achieved to determine which applicants will be offered admission to the Bridge program. The final decision is made bythe receiving university.
When you apply you will need to submit proof that you meet the program admission requirements listed above. Where a letter grade is specified, you must have proof of that grade or higher.
